Drink Driving Limits

A person is liable to be convicted of driving with excess alcohol if the proportion of alcohol in their breath, urine or blood exceeds the prescribed limit. The prescribed limits are as follows:

1. 35 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
2. 80 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
3. 107 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of urine.

To draw parallels this, it is reckoned to be equivalent to two pints of ordinary strength beer. This is a general rule but should never be applied as there are varying factors such as sex weight height body metabolism etc.
